Gates makes lawyer joke

Bill Gates opened Comdex in Las Vegas today with a little humour in his keynote speech, a reference to the outcome last week of the long-running antitrust trial brought against Microsoft by the US Department of Justice.
After walking on stage to the song "Praise" by Fat Boy Slim, the CEO and chairman of Microsoft quipped: "Has anyone here heard any good lawyer jokes lately?"
"It's great to know that all over America are entrepreneurs working in their garages, and lawyers in their 24th floor offices -- both working on what they know best," he said.
Gates thanked Microsoft supporters for letters and e-mail that offered a strong sentiment, he said, for more innovation in Windows, rather than less.
