MYOB gets GST ready

MYOB has released new "GST-ready" versions of its MYOB Accounting and MYOB Accounting Plus software packages.

Version 9 of both packages has been designed to "handle all of the GST calculations", says the company's CEO, Craig Winkler. While "later versions will include Tax Reform requirements as they unfold from the Australian Taxation Office", he says in a statement.

The new version provides for unlimited transactions without the need to purge, because the programs are now disk-based rather than memory-based as in previous versions, says MYOB. Another new addition includes enhanced inventory with the ability to track five years of monthly units, dollars and costs.

MYOB Accounting Plus version 9 features enhanced time billing with the ability to produce 'specially designed time billing' invoices.

MYOB Accounting is priced at $399, while MYOB Accounting Plus has a $525 RRP.

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
