uBid makes Aussie debut

The Australian version of online auction house uBid launched yesterday, distinguishing itself from similar services by only offering new goods for sale.

Boasted as a service for consumers and small to medium businesses, www.uBid.com.au features 'excess' and 'end-of-line' merchandise, such as PC hardware, sporting goods and electricals.

The auctions do not have reserve prices and start as low as $9, claims the company. Warranties and guarantees are provided by the merchandise manufacturers, while uBid Australasia is also offering a 21-day money-back guarantee for customers who change their mind.
