St George banks on broking

St George Bank today launched its own stockbroking service -- St George Quicktrade -- a non-advisory service that will let users place trades via the Internet or telephone.

The Quicktrade service offers straight through processing to the Australian Stock Exchange's computer system SEATS (Stock Exchange Automated System), and pricing starts at $28 for each trade under the value of $28,000.

Real time share quotes are available at the site, while St George plans to expand the service and add further research and information tools.
