Quicken: no GST worries

If you've been watching television lately you'd know that businesses are required to be GST-ready by July 1, 2000. The government, though, is advising businesses to get their systems compliant well in advance.
Accounting software company Reckon has announced that a free GST upgrade will be available to its existing Quicken customers, bringing the software into compliancy with Australian legislation.
The company also guarantees that all new versions of Quicken accounting software will "meet all of the recording and reporting regulations of the GST".
The upgrade will be available in the fourth quarter this year to registered users of the following products: QuickBooks and QuickBooks Pro (both version 6), and QuickPayroll and QuickPayroll Pro (version 6). QuickPOS users will receive a free GST version of the equivalent Quicken software, says Reckon.
The upgrade will be available for other Quicken financial applications at a cost of $29.95.
