Job seekers head online

A new report claims that 23 per cent of Australian Internet users will in the next six months "probably or definitely" apply for a job online.

Online employment advertiser Seek Communications offered the online jobs forecast from APT Strategies' survey, in announcing its own figures that 336,000 job-seekers were hosted on the Seek site (http://www.seek.com.au) in July. The number represents a 24 per cent increase over the previous month, says Seek.

"The ever-increasing number of job seekers visiting sites such as Seek has seen the pendulum clearly shift from the traditional forms of job seeking towards the Internet," said Seek CEO Paul Bassat in a statement.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
