Fax from your Palm

Symantec has released a new program that lets users of Palm computers send and receive faxes.

Mobile WinFax for Palm Computing devices ($79), turns a Palm computer with a modem into a mobile fax, allowing users to draft, edit, send and receive faxes.

According to Symantec, users of Mobile WinFax can also send and receive faxes using their Palm but via their desktop PC, without having to connect the systems physically. This, says the company, maximises the available memory of the Palm device when it is being used out of the office.

Other features of Mobile WinFax include the ability to use Palm address books when sending faxes, generate cover sheets on the fly, attach Palm memos to outgoing faxes and sign faxes using the Palm's stylus.

Mobile WinFax runs on Palm OS 2.0 or later or Palm Desktop 2.1 or later.
