Canon announces Australian royalty-free photos

A new collection of royalty-free Australian photographic images has been launched by the Australian arm of Canon's research and development operations.

Called PhotoEssentials, the collection consists of 1660 images on 18 CDs, which cost $269 to $299 each. The range is available in CMYK and RGB JPEG formats, with image sizes being 7in by 10in at 300dpi.

According to Canon the photos cover a range of subjects with an international flavour, while some of the CDs feature distinctly Australian content.

The collection is being sold internationally and Canon has recently signed an Australian distributor, Sydney-based Tri Scan.
