daVinci buyers get free keyboard

Australian distributor Smart Products will bundle for a limited time a folding palm-sized keyboard with its daVinci PDA, at no extra cost.

The deal, available until the end of April, adds a normally $79.95 optional keyboard to the $299 daVinci -- a PDA featuring 256Kb of memory and a back-lit display with a resolution of 160 x 160dpi.

The daVinci comes with a PC docking cradle and software for contacts databases, to-do lists, memos and calendar and calculator facilities.

According to Smart Products, third-party link filters are available enabling daVinci users to synchronise with PC software packages including Lotus Organiser, Microsoft Outlook and ACT.

Users may enter data via an on-screen keyboard, daVinci script handwriting, or using the folding palm-sized keyboard.

A second model, the daVinci Pro, will become available later this year, incorporating 1MB of memory and Internet connectivity, e-mail and fax software. The daVinci Pro will also be able to take a card modem in its docking cradle.
