Office 2000 beta 2 now shipping

Microsoft has announced the release of the second beta of Office 2000, the next version of Office, which is expected to be released to market early next year.
Two versions of the second beta are available -- one for consumers, the Consumer Preview Program (a full copy of beta 2 for end users), and one for IT professionals, the Corporate Preview Program (including tools and information for the deployment of Office 2000 in corporate organisations).
According to Microsoft, the beta will go to around 700,000 users participating in the evaluation program.
