Hayes to continue trading in Australia

Hayes, probably the world's best known modem manufacturer, has ceased trading in the US, but Hayes International (including Europe and Australia) will continue to operate and honour all business commitments, the company said in a statement.

Nigel Croisdale, vice president of international operations, claimed that Hayes International is autonomous and remains intact and profitable. "We have a strong market share in key countries and do not rely on the US for product supply or financing", he said.

According to Croisdale, the company will continue to operate. "We are currently in active negotiations with a number of third parties to invest in Hayes International. This will ensure us a sound and successful future." The names of potential investors have not yet been released.
