Netscape shuts down HK office, rumours Australian office will go too

Netscape Communications has shut down its Hong Kong office and according to industry reports, the company's Australian office is on the verge of closure also.

According to a ComputerWorld Today report, industry sources believe the Internet software vendor will shut down its Melbourne office and run its Australian business from Singapore, the headquarters of Netscape's South Asia operations.

Imogen Boas, marketing manager for Netscape Australia, said she is unable to confirm the reports at press time, and was working with US-based management to prepare a formal statement, which is expected to be delivered later this afternoon.
