Available in late August, Microsoft has announced the next version of its C++ development tool, Visual C++ 6.0.

Microsoft claims improved developer productivity from the new version with the addition of IntelliSense technology enabling users to write code faster and more easily. IntelliSense monitors what developers type and offers assistance with syntax, parameter information and APIs for example.

Improved Web and enterprise development support is also featured in the new version says Microsoft, including support for Dynamic HTML and Composite ActiveX Controls.

Visual C++ 6.0 will come in three editions: Standard, Professional and Enterprise. It will also be available as part of the Visual Studio 6.0 development system to be launched on September 21 at Microsoft's Developer Days '98.
