Connectix QuickCam visual communications

Connectix has introduced the QuickCam VC visual communications system.

For $335 QuickCam VC allows users to communicate with standards-based videoconferencing via the Internet or modem-to-modem, or to attach still images to video clips to e-mail. Connectix claims the product provides some of the fastest frame rates recorded over Universal Serial Bus (USB) or parallel ports. Designed to be installed in less than 10 minutes, QucickCam VC doesn't require the installation of internal cards.

The package includes:

QuickCam VC camera, from Sharp and Lucent Technologies, with adjustable focus and 2m cable. It is claimed to produce over 15fps at Common Interchange Format size on a Pentium 166 or better.

QuickCam software which includes video e-mail and still image editing.
