Hitachi's Super TFT colour LCD monitor has plummeted over $2000 in price to $4200 RRP.

The monitor uses a new Hitachi patented technology known as In-Plane Switching (IPS) TFT, that allows the wide viewing angles of CRT monitors and extended resolution plus over 16 million colours.

"Our IPS . . . puts both electrodes at the bottom plate of the panel allowing the pixels to be aligned parallel or wide to the viewer, permitting accurate display up to 70 degrees off-centre in any plane," says Dipak Kumar, manager IMM/ECD at Hitachi Australia.

The Hitachi Super TFT monitor has a display size of 13.3in, max. resolution of 1024 x 768 and has Plug and Play support. The display is 85mm deep and weighs 6kg.
