Price slash on satellite hardware

Satellite Internet access provider IHUG, has announced a price cut of more than 50 per cent on a hardware package for its SatNet service, including a 65cm satellite dish and a high speed MPEG decoder card.

From tomorrow, the package will be priced at $299, down from $650, and enables users to access the SatNet service which can offer speeds up to 400Kbps, says IHUG.

Customers of SatNet dial-up to one of IHUG's points of presence using a modem, and the network then routes all incoming traffic to their satellite dish, and all outgoing data through their modem. The service can cost from $39.95 per month.
