Canon announces new Bubble Jet

Canon has announced the release of a new Bubble Jet printer, the BJC-6000, which according to the company features 1440 x 720dpi "photo-quality printing".
The printer retails at $549 and offers six-colour photo printing and a new black ink technology for "crisp laser-like text", says Canon.
A new colour image-processing system has been introduced in the new model "to ensure more natural looking images and improved detail in both shadows and highlights".
Printing speeds for the BJC-6000 are up to 5ppm for colour and 8ppm for black text The printer comes with a black cartridge and colour cartridge, while optional extras available include a Photo Ink cartridge and a USB adapter kit ($129 RRP).
