New Kingston TurboChip upgrades to 366MHz

In the first week of June Kingston Technology will release a new processor upgrade that brings 166MHz or faster systems up to 366MHz.

The TurboChip 366 ($499 RRP), is a chip-for-chip replacement solution for AMD-K6 or Pentium-based PCs (socket 5 or socket 7-based processors).

The upgrade chip utilises 3DNow! technology and DirectX 6 and comes with a heat sink/fan integrated cooling unit, a pass-through power cord and a 2.2V to 3.3V voltage regulator, says Kingston.

According to the company, upgrading with the chip is quick and easy, and no additional changes to the PC's hardware or software are required.
