Let’s cut straight to the chase: eBlaster is a snooping tool, pure and simple. Once installed, it runs in super-stealth mode, can only be sum­moned with a customis­able key combination and password, and continuously monitors all keyboard and application activity. It then sends out regular reports to any e-mail address you specify, all without the computer user’s knowledge.

eBlaster can send information about incoming and outgoing e-mails, along with file attachments, plus details of instant messaging conversations, a summary of which applications have been used and for how long, and a record of Web sites visited. eBlaster also logs every single keystroke — which, of course, might well include private login names and passwords.

Reports can be scheduled for delivery on a flexible basis, from half-hourly to daily. However, because they are sent by (secret) e-mail, the host computer must have an open Internet connection at the time. This is perhaps eBlaster’s main weakness: if no connection is active, reports are delayed. Surprisingly, there is no facility to send reports on the fly through a network connection.

Ethics aside, if you want (or need) to monitor PC usage surreptitiously, eBlaster is ideal.
