Big and beautiful 22in CRT

Mitsubishi’s Diamond Pro 2070SB, with its Diamondtron Aperture Grille picture tube, provides great colour and image quality. It boasts plenty of screen real estate, too, giving the user a viewable area of 20in at a recommended resolution of 1600x1200 at 85Hz. The monitor can be adjusted beyond this resolution to a maximum of 2048x1536 at 85Hz, at which text was surprisingly readable and only slightly blurry. Unlike LCD monitors, screen geometry is not perfect with a CRT, but this model produced great screen framing and its lines were only slightly curved at the edges.

Text was quite sharp and screen brightness and contrast were outstanding. The comprehensive on-screen display lets you change the geometry over a wide range of angles and manually adjust the colour for all channels in small increments. Colour convergence can be tweaked.
In our tests, colour convergence was very good, although slightly off at the edges of the screen. This is typical of CRT monitors, as convergence can never be absolutely accurate across the whole screen.
The rear of the monitor holds two VGA ports for dual PC inputs, and there is also a USB hub. For the professional user or the keen game player who wants a very large and good quality screen, this one will fit the bill nicely.
