Providing you practice just 15 minutes daily, this package promises you can improve typing speed, accuracy and rhythm by 25 per cent in just two weeks - or your money back.

The interface uses a classroom scenario. Options include speed tests, lesson area, 10 different typing games and a Media Center. The Media Center has information on ergonomics; a practice area and a potentially very useful customised lesson designer.

You begin the lessons by selecting a preferred language (English or Spanish); set up a new user and other preferences such as age group, lesson type (alpha or numeric), keyboard style (standard 101 or Microsoft Natural) and a words-per-minute typing goal. The lessons may seem a little basic at first, but as they progress, so does the difficulty of joining the letter combinations to make commonly used words. To break the monotony, throughout the lessons you will encounter games to improve your skills - accuracy, speed or typing rhythm. You can track your progress with detailed feedback and performance analysis - great for staying motivated.

This is a great program for people of all ages to help create or improve typing skills. My own typing has improved dramatically - though I still have to fight the urge to return to some bad typing habits.

In brief: Stick to the practice guidelines and you'll be churning out massive missives in no time. Price: $69.95 Distributor: Mindscape Phone: (02) 9964 0475 URL: www.mindscape.net.au
