Logitech intros mm50 portable iPod speakers

Logitech has introduced its new mm50 portable speakers for Apple's iPod. The Speakers feature a built-in rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery and a wireless remote control. When connected to an AC power source, the mm50 can simultaneously charge its own battery and the iPod's -- it supports any iPod model that features a dock connector (that includes third and fourth-generation iPods and all iPod minis). Available in September, the Logitech mm50 will cost US$149.99.

The mm50's battery can last for up to 10 hours per charge, according to Logitech. The remote control can adjust volume, track forward, track back, play and pause on the iPod itself. The mm50 uses "Max-X" drivers that include neodymium magnets and three-inch pressure drivers. Logitech has also built in "3D Stereo" technology to widen the stereo image.

The mm50 comes with a protective travel case and has received Apple's "Made for iPod" certification.
