VoodooPC announces a 19-inch notebook

The heavyweight category doesn't just pertain to boxers anymore--it now applies to notebooks. The Envy Heavyweight u:909, a new behemoth of a laptop from VoodooPC, has a 19-inch screen, and weighs in at 16 pounds.

According to Voodoo, the Envy's huge screen will be suited for gaming and graphics thanks to its 1680 by 1050 resolution. It will be powered by an AMD Turion 64 processor, and come with either dual nVidia SLI or ATI graphics, so gamers will likely have a field day with this huge machine.

But at 16 pounds, will anyone actually want to drag this thing around anywhere? I'm intrigued by the Envy's huge screen, but I do like being able to grab my notebook and go--not really an option with this big lug. And the Envy has a price tag to match its mammoth size; it costs US$5000--to start.

I haven't gotten my hands on one of these yet, but I'm hoping to soon just so I can see what 16 pounds of notebook really feels like. What about you--would you be interested in an expensive, but gigantic, notebook?
