Operating system virtualization company SWsoft announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Ensim's software automation business.

SWsoft, which offers hosted virtualization as well as its Virtuozzo operating system virtualization software, will acquire the Ensim Pro software business from Ensim for an undisclosed amount.

Both companies -- Ensim and SWsoft -- will remain as independent entities.

The Ensim Pro control panel is used by businesses, service providers and consumers to automate the process of setting up and managing Web servers, e-mail accounts and software applications on Windows and Linux machines. Ensim Pro includes tools that allow hosting providers to create, control and deliver a variety of hosting plans in minutes.

According to Serguei Beloussov, CEO of Swsoft, the Ensim Pro console will be integrated with Swsoft's Plesk automation and virtualization products.

Ensim Pro will also be able to bolster SWsoft's Open Fusion initiative, which focuses on the integration of third-party applications and modules.
