ZoneAlarm offers free anti spyware for one day
- — 14 November, 2007 12:19
ZoneAlarm is offering a free download of its anti spyware package as part of Microsoft's Patch Tuesday.
The offer commenced overnight and will end Thursday 15 November at midday, Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time.
Ordinarily, ZoneAlarm Anti-Spyware costs US$19.95 to download from the Zone Alarm Web site.
A message on the ZoneAlarm site reads: "Every month, Microsoft offers users patches to update Windows and Internet Explorer to help protect them against newly-discovered product vulnerabilities. But as soon as Microsoft makes their announcement, hackers are already finding ways to exploit users who may not download the patches immediately.
"The security experts behind ZoneAlarm urge you to always patch your operating systems and browsers whenever an update is available. More importantly, take extra precautions to protect your PC for those times when a patch may not be available. That's why we are offering you ZoneAlarm Anti-Spyware for FREE today, Patch Tuesday, only."
Once downloaded and installed, the product, which is licensed for one computer only, is valid until November 12, 2008. It runs on both Windows XP and 2000.
ZoneAlarm already offers its ZoneAlarm Firewall for free download.
The anti spyware product is available for download from this site.
