IceTV can now pick your favourite show
Intelligent program recommendation system for digital free-to-air TV viewers.

Electronic program guide provider IceTV, which lets users record free-to-air TV through a media centre or Personal Video Recorder (PVR), this week announced the introduction of Australia's first intelligent TV show recommendation system for digital viewers.

According to a statement from the IceTV team, customers can now automatically receive personalized "IceTV Recommendations" on TV shows that may interest them based on their favourite shows, series recordings and similar recording decisions made by other IceTV users.

The technology comes courtesy of a partnership between IceTV and Perth based Recommendation Ventures, and works across either a digital set-top-box based PVR, or Windows and Mac-based media centres.

Suggested TV shows are displayed as an IceTV Recommendation identified by a green star icon within the IceTV electronic program guide.

"The system is so simple. You can either ignore the suggested TV show or conveniently set your device at home to go ahead and record it. It's a case of - we recommend and then let you decide" said Matt Kossatz, IceTV's General Manager.
