Exclusive: Asus provides glimpse of Eee Monitor PC design, says more Eee gear to come
First pictures

Computex: Asus has offered the first look at what its upcoming all-in-one desktop may look like, and shown an Eee family roadmap featuring previously unannounced products alongside the Eee Box B202 mini PC and 42-inch LCD Eee TV.

Here's the all-telling slide that I snapped at the Asus TekTrend Seminar in Taipei's Grand Hotel today:

As was the case earlier in the week, ASUS made no comment on the Eee Monitor's price or configuration, but reports from earlier in the year suggest a 19 to 21-inch screen size, built-in TV tuner and a starting pricing of around $500. Apple's iMac starts at $1199.

The Eee Monitor should be available sometime in September, around the same time as the company's previously announced Eee TV. The 42-inch LCD TV is reported to include the Linux-based PC abilities of other Eee PC products, while costing no more than $200 over the cost of regular LCD TVs of the same size.

But what's this? ASUStek CEO, Jerry Shen, presented a 2008 Eee family roadmap that included two previously unannounced Eee products slated for launch sometime between September and December this year. The products were listed as "Eee S1" and "Eee K1", and no clue of what type of product they might be was given afterwards. I'm working to find out more--so stay tuned. Any guesses in the meantime?

Eee Box Close Up I also got the chance to have a better look at the company's quick-booting Eee Box mini-desktops, which are set to hit the US in mid July for between $200 and $300.

It's a sexy piece of kit, but if Asus has been overly inspired by the iMac for the Eee Monitor, then it's been outright blatant in its love for the Nintendo Wii.

Right down to its Wii-like motion gaming controllers:

Base specs include the just launched 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, speedy 802.11n Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet networking, four USB ports and a multi-card reader. You then choose your choice of operating system (Windows XP or Linux), DDR memory (512MB to 2GB) and hard disk (80GB to 250GB.
