Portable storage, high price: Nikon CoolWalker MSV-01

Removable media may be dropping in price, but hard drives are still more cost-effective. That's why Nikon has launched the CoolWalker, a portable digital storage device for digital photographers.
With a 30GB hard disk, the PDA-sized CoolWalker can store approximately 10,000 2MB image files, and supports JPEG, TIFF and Nikon's proprietary RAW NEF format. Copying your pictures across is easy; with both USB connectivity and a Compact Flash card slot. Once stored, you can view them on the 2.5in LCD, play them back on a TV, or print directly to a PictBridge-compatible printer, with the Lithium-Polymer battery lasting around 1.5hrs.
The problem with the CoolWalker MSV-10 is its price. At $899, it's about the same as a portable media player, which can do the same job as well as playing back audio and video files, too. Professional photographers might be interested, but casual observers should look elsewhere.
