3 Mobile will be introducing both its new capped plans this week as well as discounting its range of popular mobile phone handsets.

According to the mobile phone operator, the new 24-month capped plans will include up to 25 per cent more value in voice and text services, over 50 per cent more free 3 to 3 calls and a choice of unlimited news, sports or Fun content from Sky News, Fox Sports and Fat Pizza.

Under the new $29 two year plan, for example, the $120 worth of calls and SMS cap has been lifted to $150 with $160 of free talk to anyone on the 3 network instead of just $70. Similarly, the $129 Cap plan which used to allow its subscribers $1000 worth of calls and SMS and $350 of free talk to other 3 customers has been lifted to $1200 and $1750 respectively.

Depending on the cap plan chosen, handsets such as the Nokia N95 8GB, LG Viewty (KU990), Motorola MOTORAZR2 V9 and Sony Ericsson W890i will be available free of charge.

The 3 Mobile $69 cap, valued at $650, allows customers to make 382 minutes of national voice calls, compared with Telstra's $79 cap, which only offers 254 minutes of national voice calls. 3 also claims its new $69 cap is better value than Vodafone's $79 cap.

Arthur Panos, Vodafone's head of products and services, said: "Vodafone's $79 cap includes $600 of headline value, plus unlimited calls to your Vodafone Best Mate each month. Based on an average call duration of two minutes and on 1000 minutes of call to your Vodafone Best Mate, this equates to 1632 call minutes per month, as opposed to 3's $69 cap that delivers 1176 minutes per month."

Noel Hamill, 3 Mobile's director of sales and marketing says 3 customers are consistently looking for more value from their mobile and believes "more and more 3 customers are looking at services such as news, sport and entertainment on a regular basis via their mobile phone".

3 Mobile's announcement comes as Apple is about to launch its new iPhone in the Australian market through Vodafone, Optus and Telstra but not 3. 3 has asked its customers to sign an online petition sign an online petition to convince Apple to let the carrier offer the iPhone to its customers .

Windows 10 / HP Spectre

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

Windows 10 / Lenovo Yoga

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
