There were 9000 fewer Xboxs on retailer's shelves after the first four days of Microsoft's gaming console going on sale.
Since it's launch on Thursday (March 14) to Sunday night, Microsoft's authorised retailers sold 9124 consoles and over 14,500 games, according to channel research company Inform.
The most popular game by a long way was Halo, which sold with 60 per cent of consoles purchased over the four-day period. Project Gotham Racer was also a favourite amongst consumers, with the game selling with around 30 per cent of consoles sold.
Around 1.6 games were sold with every Xbox console, the same according to Inform's Phil Burnham as PS2. This is despite PS2 consoles being backward compatible with PS1 games.
Burnham predicts sales for the Xbox console will slow after the initial launch period in line with previous console launches.
