SUNA launches in Sydney and Brisbane
Get there SUNA rather than later

Australian telematics provider Intelematics today launched the SUNA Traffic Channel for Sydney and Brisbane.

Twelve months after its launch in Melbourne, the SUNA Traffic Channel was today expanded to include the Sydney and Brisbane metropolitan areas, effectively covering 75 per cent of Australia's metropolitan areas with traffic information.

Intelematics also announced that the system will expand compatibility to incorporate selected GPS devices from six major GPS manufacturers, and will also be integrated into selected Ford Falcon FG models.

SUNA Traffic Channel is an information system designed to integrate with some GPS units to provide users with accurate traffic congestion information. The information will allow GPS devices to adjust a user's route in order to bypass traffic congestion and cut down on travel time.

The service is available from today. In order to use the channel, users must have a compatible GPS device and an accompanying FM antenna. Upcoming premium GPS models from most manufacturers are expected to be bundled with the antenna. Cheaper models will attract a one-time upgrade fee to obtain the service, with no subsequent subscription fees.
