Freshtel subsidiary launches WiFi mobile telephony service
Will allow users to take advantage of cheaper VoIP calls via their mobile phones while at home.

Freshtel Holdings Limited [ASX: FRE] subsidiary Tesco Teleecoms has launched a new converged technology internet telephony service.

The service, Tesco TalkWiFi, will allow customers to use WiFi networks with their existing compatible mobile phone and number.

It will allow users to make cheaper calls via VoIP while still retaining their own mobile number and the ability to also use the phone via a mobile network.

TalkWiFi is being rolled out in the UK, following successful trials there, but will soon be rolled-out globally.

Freshtel funded the final stages of product development.
