Dick Smith Electronics flogs mobile phone with porn pics
Dick Smith Electronics is investigating allegations that porn photos were found on a mobile phone sold in a Cairns store.

A Dick Smith Electronics store in Cairns, Queensland, is in hot water over allegations it recently sold a mobile phone containing pornographic photos. The customer, a university student, was "shocked and disgusted" when she discovered the images on the newly purchased phone.

The university student told The Cairns Post she discovered 49 photos of a female worker from the store, many of them explicit.

The Samsung mobile was a display model, and according to a Dick Smith spokesperson was sold as it was the last unit in stock.

A spokesperson at the Sydney office of the retail chain revealed that they sometimes sell display model phones, but only when there is no other stock available. "We are still investigating and taking the matter very seriously, but will not be making any comment regarding the images or the outcome of the incident until we complete our investigation", he said. "We are yet to see the alleged photos."

The company declined to comment on claims that it may provide compensation for the Cairns customer.
