Nintendo DS game calls you the N-word

Racist epithets in Animal Crossing: Wild World

Copies of Animal Crossing: Wild World for the Nintendo DS were sent out Tuesday to several video game publications, including GamePro, due to the fact that the game's unlockable content can be imported onto the new Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Wii. The extras, said to be "rare and favourite items" by the press release which accompanied the game, were unlocked before the copies were sent out to gaming press.

Both MTV Multiplayer and Kotaku confirm that in their copies of Animal Crossing: Wild World, a sheep named Baabara refers to you as a "N***a." For those who haven't played an Animal Crossing game, characters can be taught to greet you however you like.

In addition to the animal saying "How are you, N***a?" the sheep is also quoted as saying "I almost forgot about you, N***a" "So got any juicy gossip for me, N***a?" "Just thinking about it gets me all excited, N***a."
