Telstra launches new business centres

Business centre staff to demonstrate communications technology for small and medium businesses.

Telstra today announced the opening of 37 new business centres across Australia, which the telco claims will help small to medium enterprises (SMEs) become more efficient.

The new Telstra Business Centres will provide face-to-face help for small business owners, and will employ staff trained to give live demonstrations of business technology including mobile phones and office phone systems.

Telstra today officially opened the first of the new business centres in Malvern, in Melbourne’s inner east. The Malvern Business Centre will be one of 17 to open during the April, with another 20 business centres to open over the next year.

"We think the time is right to step up the level of help and advice Telstra provides by opening the doors of specialist Business Centres around the country", said Telstra's Deana Shiff. "Specially trained staff will be on hand to give live demonstrations and take the complexity out of buying communications technology."

Telstra claims that the new Business Centres, alongside existing T[life] retail stores, will provide more than a thousand Australian jobs. Telstra currently has 41 T[life] retail stores in operation, with a further 80 across the country to be opened before June 30.

The 17 new Telstra Business Centres opening over the next month include stores in Paddington, Tamworth, Port Melbourne, Rhodes, Epping and North Sydney. The 17 business centres to open in the coming months are:

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
