RIM today launched its latest BlackBerry smartphone, the BlackBerry Curve 8900.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is the third model in the Curve series of smartphones. It follows the BlackBerry Curve 8300 and the BlackBerry Curve 8310, both of which were launched in Australia in 2007. According to RIM, the Curve 8900 is the thinnest and lightest BlackBerry to feature a full QWERTY keyboard.

Launching first on the Vodafone network in Australia, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 will initially be restricted to corporate and business customers. RIM is yet to make an announcement regarding general availability, and as yet no other Australian networks are offering the smartphone.

RIM's carrier relationship manager, Michael Monson, said the Curve 8900 is targeted at a wide range of users, but noted that "RIM has seen a big consumer uptake of late, which is away from BlackBerry's traditional corporate base".

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 features a compact design, a full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi and built-in GPS, but it lacks 3G connectivity. The Curve 8900 also offers a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3.2-megapixel camera, and it includes a microSD card slot for extra storage.

In addition, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 supports a range of downloadable mobile applications such as Facebook and Twitter clients, business tools and productivity software.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is available now to business and corporate consumers through Vodafone, and comes with an RRP of $929 if purchased outright. For more information, visit the BlackBerry Australia Web site.

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

I’d happily recommend this touchscreen laptop and Windows 10 as a great way to get serious work done at a desk or on the road.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre x360

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
