BlackBerry Storm 2 coming in September?

Report claims handset will feature Wi-Fi

Research in Motion (RIM) looks set to launch a new version of its BlackBerry Storm handset.

The BlackBerry Storm was RIM's first ever touchscreen handset, and it's rumoured that an updated version could hit the market as soon as September.

US website SlashGear claimed a source "very close to the issue" had revealed the launch date and that the handset was likely "addresses one of the biggest criticisms of the first smartphone, in that it will support Wi-Fi".

The website also said it had been told the handset would be "an even better pro-consumer device than the first Storm".

As ever, we were unable to get confirmation from RIM about the rumoured new models, but when the BlackBerry Storm was unveiled late last year, we were told that it was the first in a new product range for RIM.
