Chilli Internet spices up iBurst market with hot price drop

Chilli Internet has dropped the entry level price for its iBurst mobile laptop broadband by $20, with plans now starting from $49.95 per month for 300MB of downloads at 512Kbps.

The initial set-up cost, which includes a PC Card and line activation, is $509.85.

Personal Broadband Australia's (PBA) iBurst uses smart antenna technology to deliver internet services across a 1.9GHz spectrum band.

iBurst coverage is now available in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Canberra, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth. PBA plans to eventually provide coverage for more than 75 per cent of Australia.

PBA has nine channel partners selling its iBurst broadband, including SecureTel, OzEmail, Techex and Chilli Internet.

SecureTel's iBurst plans start at $140 per month and offer 500MB of downloads at 1Mb per second with a $499 set up fee. OzEmail is offering free activation with new accounts and its plans start at $49.95 per month for unlimited use at 256Kbps.
