NEC today unveiled two high brightness DLP based multifunction projectors for auditoriums and large conference rooms — the NP4100 and NP4100W. These projectors have advanced features and a dual lamp system that enables high reliability and superior installation flexibility.

The projectors exhibit NEC's WXGA panel for wide-format images and use a wide array of input/output terminals and keystone correction for adjustment of projected images. They also come with Eco Mode that enables users to reduce projector noise while extending the life of the lamp -- translating into a low total cost of ownership. These projectors have been equipped with higher brightness and improved colour reproduction. In addition, they are also suitable for non-standard projection angles such as from the floor or ceiling.

The press release detailed some key features that make the projectors suitable for large formats:

o Two types of Replaceable Colour Wheel and BrilliantColor project vivid images:

The NP4100/NP4100W has a six-segment colour wheel, in addition to the standard four-segment colour wheel - and the colour wheels can be changed by the customer. BrilliantColor results in superior reproducibility of neutral tints for vivid images of natural scenery.

o Powered lens shift mechanism & Keystone Correction:

With the powered lens shift mechanism, the position of projected images on screen can be adjusted in both the vertical and horizontal directions without moving the projector. Furthermore, keystone corrects distortions in the vertical and horizontal direction.

o WXGA panel for wide-format images (1280 x 800) (NP4100W):

NP4100W has a WXGA (1280 X 800) panel with an aspect ratio of 16:10; it is capable of handling WXGA resolution and wide video images such as DVDs.

o Dual Lamp System:

The dual lamp system demonstrates high reliability and installation flexibility on wide screen format.

o Ecological Adaption:

o Extended Lamp Life: The lamp when set to ECO mode, serves for 3000 hrs

o Ecological operation with power consumption of 1 W in standby mode

o Auto start & Direct Power Off:

The NP4100/NP4100W starts projecting images automatically when AC power is supplied and the power can be turned off with a switch or a circuit breaker while projecting images or running the fan.

o Tilt Free expansion possibility for installation environments

With this function it is possible to use the projector in a broader range of installation environments such as a display in a commercial facility or special event.
