3, formerly, the only Australian telco not to offer the Apple iPhone 3G, has announced that it will be selling the latest iPhone, the iPhone 3G S.

Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA), 3's parent company as part of the recent merger between Vodafone and 3 Mobile in Australia, announced that the iPhone 3G S will be available in July through 3 stores and online at 3's Web site. Pricing and plan details are yet to be confirmed.

"It's very exciting to be introducing the iPhone 3G S to 3 customers for the first time," said Nigel Dews, CEO of VHA Australia.

"Vodafone achieved outstanding sales and a fantastic customer experience with the iPhone that was launched last year, and we'll be looking to replicate this success across both the Vodafone and 3 brands this year."

3 has created a pre-registration portal where users can register interest in the new device and receive updates on its release.
