At a press event in Sydney today, Australian company Kogan revealed plans to release 19in and 22in LED TVs within the next two months.
Kogan has also refreshed several of its existing products and launched a number of new products, including a Wi-Fi-enabled Internet and digital radio combination and a wireless-enabled 8in digital photo frame that can interface with social networking and photo-sharing Web sites.
CEO Ruslan Kogan said that OLED displays and Internet connectivity were the next big innovations in consumer electronics, and they will be introduced into several of Kogan's existing product ranges in the future.
When questioned regarding the continuing development of the Google Android-based Agora smartphone, Kogan said a new model with design similarities to the HTC Magic is ready and awaiting final approval.
Kogan also revealed plans to expand operations to the United States within two months and the UK in 2009. The company currently only operates in Australia and New Zealand.
According to Kogan, final negotiations are in process for warehousing in Kentucky, and once finalised the company will begin to sell its Pro range of LCD TVs in the US, before making its entire range of products available.
Kogan said local customers will feel the benefits of international expansion, with the company's increased buying power allowing it to decrease its prices.
Kogan attributed his company's growth to consumer interest in better value products. "Business has more than doubled in the last year," said Kogan. "People are becoming smarter than ever in how they shop."
