The HTC Snap is one of three new Windows Mobile smartphones to launch in Australia today.
Running the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, the HTC Touch Diamond 2 and HTC Touch Pro 2 are full touch-screen smartphones, with the Touch Pro 2 also featuring a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The HTC Snap is a non-touch-screen smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard.
Among the HTC-exclusive features of the Touch Diamond 2 and Touch Pro 2 are the TouchFLO 3D user interface, a unified contacts list that provides a single contact view for text, voice or e-mail conversations and "push" Internet that preloads commonly accessed Web pages. The HTC Snap features a function dubbed "inner circle", allowing users to quickly see e-mails from up to 10 preselected favourite contacts without having to search or scroll through long lists.
"These three unique HTC devices focus around simplifying how we communicate, and will challenge and exceed your expectations around what a typical 'business' phone is capable of achieving," said Anthony Petts of HTC.
The HTC Snap and HTC Touch Pro 2 will initially launch on Telstra, while the HTC Touch Diamond 2 will be available first on Optus. Pricing and plan details are yet to be announced.
