Games are most popular apps for iPhone

Apple iPhone owners are more likely to purchase games to play on their handset, compared to other mobile phone users, says Distimo.
According to research by the applications analysts, nine of the 15 most purchased apps for Apple's smartphone were games. Distimo also revealed that none of the top 15 purchased apps for phone's running Google's Android OS were games.
The firm also revealed that when it came to free apps, the same rules applied, but apps for Google Android phones were on average more expensive than those for the iPhone.
However, Distimo said this didn't mean Android owners didn't like playing games on their phones.
"Classic games on Android Market are more popular than in the Apple App Store, with even three out of the 15 most popular games for Android being emulators. These types of emulators are not allowed in the Apple App Store," the company said.
