Sony triples TV warranty length

Promotion extends TV warranties to three years

Sony has announced a promotion tripling the length of its LCD and LED television warranties, extending them from 12 to 36 months.

Bravia LCD televisions purchased from the start of October until the end of the year will be eligible for the increased warranty, although customers must register their televisions online at the Sony Warranty Web site. The promotion covers all Sony Bravia LCD television models including the Sony Bravia KDL40ZX1 and the Sony Bravia W series.

However, the extension does not apply to the $6999 Sony XEL-1 OLED television, which only comes with a 12 month manufacturer’s warranty.
