Pure launches Sensia touchscreen digital radio
A DAB+ radio with a 5.7in touchscreen and Web browsing

Pure has unveiled a DAB+ and internet radio with an embedded 5.7in colour touchscreen. The Pure Sensia can also browse the web.

Using Pure's 'Flow' technology, the elliptical-shaped Sensia has a 30 Watt speaker and allows user to enjoy DAB+ and internet radio over a Wi-Fi connection. What's more, listeners can download apps to the Sensia and access websites including Facebook, Twitter and photo-sharing site Picasa.

Available in four colours; red, yellow, black or white, users can change stations and settings on the Pure Sensia using the 640x480 touchscreen. Like Pure's Evoke Flow, the Sensia can also be used to stream music stored on a PC via the Wi-Fi connection.

It also benefits from a moulded stand so users can angle the radio for an optimum viewing position, an input for an iPod/MP3 player; an alarm; countdown timer; sleep timer and a headphone socket.

The mains-powered device can also be used on the go if users purchase the rechargeable Pure ChargePAK. Varieties of the ChargePAK can be used in other Pure products like the Pure EVOKE Flow and the Pure ONE Classic.

"Pure made its name as the company behind the success of DAB. We've since created a market leading and multi award-winning, internet-connected product range with our Flow series.

"Sensia is the next major innovation from Pure, which I am confident will bring radio to a whole new 'Facebook' generation while still inspiring our traditional customer base. Radio will never be the same again," said Paul Smith, Pure's general manager.

Priced at $749 locally, the Pure Sensia will be available in time for Christmas.
