Telstra permits iPhone tethering

Telstra is finally allowing iPhone owners to use their iPhone as a tethered modem.
Tethering allows notebook or PC owners to use the iPhone as a modem to connect to the Internet in a similar fashion to a USB 3G modem.
Tethering was previously not available to Telstra users, though it was possible to get access to the feature by jailbreaking the iPhone.
Telstra customers can now activate tethering by connecting their iPhone to iTunes, where the latest Telstra carrier file will be updated.
Telstra will not charge for activating tethering, but has stressed that customers should add a browsing pack to their plan in order to pay a reduced rate for mobile data.
