Harmonix patches PS3 version of Rock Band 2

Latest patch adds wireless SingStar microphone functionality

Rock Band 2 Lead Designer Dan Teasdale announced via the PlayStation blog today that a patch for Rock Band 2 on the PlayStation 3 is scheduled for today.

The patch addresses several issues, but the big ticket item is the Rock Band Network Store Support. This feature will make select songs available in-game once the Rock Band Network goes live. Another big update included with the patch is wireless SingStar microphone functionality.

Lesser updates include an improved "Sort by Stars" function. The first part of this fix makes the function available in Quickplay; the second part fixes it so that players don't have to beat a previous high score to record star ratings on songs.

Rock Band Network is currently in closed beta, but a toolset is available for users. Harmonix hopes to launch the service early this year.
