New PS3 firmware update gives us 3D games

3D update included in new PlayStation 3 download

The new PlayStation 3 firmware update that enables Sony's home console to play Blu-Ray discs also includes a 3D update.

At Sony's CES press conference Wednesday night, CEO Sir Howard Stringer announced the company's firm commitment to going 3D across all its products. For the PS3, this comes in the form of the firmware update which will render all PS3s capable of playing 3D games.

Stringer went on to say that Sony is the only company completely immersed in 3D at every level. We'll see if that statement holds true after Microsoft's press conference, which begins in a little under an hour.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
