The original Flip camcorder
The Flip Mino HD has won the PC Advisor Awards 2010 - Best Camcorder award, after being named as the best camcorder to have come through the PC Advisor Test Centre over the past 12 months.
The Flip stole the crown for the best camcorder thanks to its unsurpassed simplicity. It's amazingly easy to use: press its central red record button, then press the play arrow to view or the skip chevron to jump to the next clip. When you've finished recording, flick the catch to release the USB connector; it'll flip out, allowing you to plug it straight into a laptop or PC and view your footage and upload it to the web.
It offers 720p video recording (not full HD, but more than passable video quality) and straightforward viewing and editing software. You can even check your hair in its shiny silvered back, should you plan on appearing in some video footage yourself.
The runners-up in the camcorder category were: Canon Legria HV40, Kodak Zi6, Panasonic SDR-S26, Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10
