Star Trek Online adds Nimoy, devs to appear at convention

New removes the level cap

A patch to the Star Trek Online beta adds a lot of new things and fixes a ton of gameplay issues -- but the big ticket item is an added voice over from Leonard Nimoy, the original Spock. Players are treated to the sound of Spock via an audio journal overview when they enter a new Sector Block.

The patch also removes the level cap and opens up Cardassian and Romulan Sectors to Federation players. The full list of fixes is too massive to include here, but you can find it on the official site. The game is expected to launch February 2.

The Star Trek Online developer team will be at the Star Trek Convention in San Francisco this weekend for a meet and greet. You can find them on the show floor or meet up with them outside Swig's bar between 7 and 9PM on Saturday, January 23.
